Food For Thought with Elizabeth Löwe Hunter

We are back with the first Food For Thought after one year of a lockdown. We are so excited to start again our flagship activity, we cant wait to see people again gathering in our beloved Ubuntu house, sharing food, and listening to inspiring stories, and connect on a human level.
Come join us on Thursday, June 10 at 17.00 in our Ubuntu house in the heart of Copenhagen to Listen to the inspiring Elizabeth Löwe.
Elizabeth Löwe Hunter is a daughter of two harbors – Savannah, Georgia, and Copenhagen, Denmark. She centers expressions of subjectivity, belonging, and material realities among racially minoritized people in Western Europe, specifically Denmark. She specializes in articulations of racism in a ‘raceless’ context through transnational feminist theories, decolonial, and African diasporic thought. She examines relations between racialization, nation, sexuality, and gender to raise questions around Western constructions of humanness and the citizen subject.
She is a Ph.D. student in the department of African American Studies and African Diaspora Studies at the University of California Berkeley, with a designated emphasis in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She also has a MA from The University of Copenhagen and a BA from Roskilde University.
Elizabeth is motivated by working towards writing the things she always wanted to read and to embody a kind of professor she wished she had grown up and studied in Denmark.
