OBJECTIVES
This project aims to help migrants that often risk being marginalized and excluded in their new country; to minimize this we previously developed project called ‘Online Course for Migrant Entrepreneurs on a European level’ which took departure in implementing innovative strategies encouraging migrants’ integration in the labour market in their host community. We experienced that participants demand more face-to-face interaction both with other participants and entrepreneurial experts, and decided to accommodate the wish from migrants to become an active and productive resource in the labour market. With planned activities we are able to help migrant entrepreneurs receive face-to-face interactive learning so migrants with an interest in entrepreneurship get the opportunity to interact with experts as well as strengthen their network.
OUTCOME
This project will involve different, interactive activities of non-formal learning for at least 25 participants in each country. Our main activities are; a 3-day kick-off meeting and training in entrepreneurship and migrant inclusion facilitated by Crossing Borders where the Vet4Migre online course will be used to gain knowledge and the previous experiences from this project will be reflected upon; facilitating at least 25 participants in each country to enrol in Vet4Migre’s online entrepreneurship course and participate in the project; 6 ‘Entrepreneurship Networking Dinners’ in each participating country, where well-established migrants, which are all entrepreneurs, will be invited to tell their story and share their experiences in regard to being entrepreneurs in their new host country; 10 monthly mentor days in each country where two experts in entrepreneurship will provide guidance; an online platform will be created where participants from all countries are able to get in touch and create an even bigger network; quarterly Skype reflection meetings among coordinators. A final reflection-evaluation and sharing of best practices meeting arranged by Crossing Borders but hosted by Mobilizing Expertise in Sweden. A final report will be compiled and the facilitators will participate in finalizing the tool-book.
